So the opportunity arose to pitch to Richard Branson for my Private Equity fund. Inspired by the fictional Bobby Axelrod from Billions — I thought I would go ‘all in’. Of course I was not allowed to say on BBC, ‘if you want to make money, climb the f*ck aboard’ — but the lesson is — be your bloody self when pitching. Swagger. Be a big swinging d**k. If you get a ‘no’ at least it’s on your own terms, not there’s, on your feet not on your knees. Yes, I know, this is not how your mamma taught you to pitch for capital…so how’s that working out for you?
